Acupuncture

Acupuncture employs the use of fine sterilized needles about the size of a hair shaft or thread.  Specific points along the meridian pathway are selected to restore normal balance and flow of energy to the body tissues, organs and systems.  This sets the stage for the body to repair itself.  Acupuncture needle insertion is vastly different than other needles.  Acupuncture needles are very small  like a thread.  Many do not feel the needle being inserted.  For those sensitive to needles, you may choose a treatment with non-insertion needles, acupressure or herbs.

Acupressure

Acupressure

according to the WHO

Acupressure uses hands rather than a needle to touch acupuncture points.   As two acupuncture points are held energy can be felt by the practitioner, and often by the patient, as a pulsing sensation between the two points.  This method balances the body’s energy, relieves pain, reduces stress, energizes, and corrects many health problems.  This is a good choice for those who are fearful of needles.
